The effect and danger of alcohol and drug

It should come as no surprise that drugs and alcohol can have negative effects on your life. Before i enlightened us about that dangers of consuming alcohol and drug, i would first tell us the meaning of alcohol and drug.

Alcohol is a volatile flammable liquid which is produced by the natural fermentation of sugars and is the intoxicating constituent of wine, beer, spirits, and other drinks, and is also used as an industrial solvent and as fuel.

A drug is any substance that, when inhaled, injected, smoked, consumed, absorbed via a patch on the skin, or dissolved under the tongue causes a physiological effect in the body.

It is the general believe that alcohol is safe and not harmful to human since is legal. Alcohol and drug can have an extremely devastating effect on the user. Likewise, there are physical implications that can damage just about every organ in the body. There are mental and emotional implications that can cause you to develop serious psychological conditions.

Effect of alcohol :

1. It increase the risk of cancer
2. Cause coma or death because oxygen no longer reaches the brain
3. Reducing new brain cell production by nearly 40%
4. Malnutrition, ulcers, hepatitis, among other things
5. Inability to stop bleeding because the liver has difficulty producing the proteins that cause clotting
6. Brain damage, slower thinking, unsteadiness and slurred speech
7. Poor productivity and success at work and in school.
8. Weaken the immune system, increasing susceptibility to infections.
9. Depression
10. Hypertension

Effect of drug :

1. Mental disorder, like schizophrenia, depression or generalized anxiety
2. Irregular or rapid heart rate
3. Blood-borne diseases like hepatitis or HIV
4. Impotence or infertility
5. Lung damage
6. Respiratory depression and coma
7. Psychosis
8. Seizures
9. cardiovascular disease and stroke
10. Liver and Kidney damage


Effect of drug and alcohol on Pregnancy :

1. Miscarriage
2. Problems with the placenta
3. Premature delivery
4. Low birth weight
5. Withdrawal symptoms in your newborn baby
6. Death of the baby and/or the mother


Behavioral effect :

1. Paranoia
2. Aggressiveness
3. Hallucinations
4. Addiction
5. Impaired Judgment
6. Impulsiveness
7. Loss of Self-Control



The fact is, that while it may seem that drugs are making you feel better, they’re actually causing long-term damage, and you’re likely better off without it. Say no to drug and alcohol, stay alive and healthy !!!
