Most times people living in a city will never agree with you that there city is dabgerious . Even the indigen of this cities may fight or sue you if you ever say their city is gangerious however , there are still lots of good things about all these cities so dont get scared away.

I am rating the most dangerious cities base on Unemployment rate , Violent & Crimes and Poverty rate.



1. Detroit




Unemployment Rate: 22.1%
Poverty rate: 40.3%
Violent & crime rate: 2,047 per 100,000

Detroit is one of the several major metropolitan areas that are largely responsible for the increase in violent crime nationwide . The annual average income in Detroit is estimated to be ($26,249), which makes living hard for families living there couple with the rate of uneployment

The increase in crime was largely due to a rise in the number of aggravated assaults, which increased by 30.6% every year. Detroit is toping our list with its number 1 possition on our list.


2. St. Louis



Unemployment Rate: 10.6%
Poverty rate: 27.1%
Violent & crime rate: 1,913 per 100,000


St. Louis has the highest murder rate nationwide and One of the factor contributing to the high increase in violent & crime rate in St. Louis is gun-related homicide. You have a 1 in 15 chance of being robbed , and a 1 in 62 chance of being raped, attacked or killed on a yearly basis. 

It is estimated that around 60 homicides per 100,000 occure amonge St. Louis residents yearly. The reason for the increas in voilent & crime rate is due to permissive gun control legislation. For example, individuals are allowed to move around with a gun in a car without a permit, an illegal act in Chicago, Detroit, Baltimore, and New York City, according to state laws.


3. Memphis



Unemployment Rate: 11.3%
Poverty rate: 27.6%
Violent & crime rate: 1,820 per 100,000


Lack of required numbers of police officers and higher numbers of school drop out are one of the major factor contributing to the increase in voilent and crime rate in Memphins. Memphis is one of many major metropolitan areas with a large poor population and a high crime rate. It is estimated that 27.6% of residents live in poverty, a far higher rate than the 15.5% national figure.


4. Baltimore

Poverty rate: 23.7%
Violent & crime rate: 1,780 per 100,000

Baltimore is one of several large cities that accounted for a substantial portion of the nationwide increase in violent crime. crimes nationwide rose 4.1% from 2015 to 2016, violent crime in Baltimore increased 15.4% . Most of the gun violence in Baltimore is concentrated in the city’s poorest areas.

It is estimated that approximately 80% of gun-related homicides occurred yearly in Baltimore


5. Cleveland



Unemployment Rate: 17.3%
Poverty rate: 36.2%
Violent & crime rate: 1,631 per 100,000


In Cleveland, it is estimated 36.2% of residents live in poverty, and 20.6% of households earn less than $10,000 couple with high unemployment rate.

One factor that can contribute to increase in crime rate is a poor relationship between local police and the community. Reason for poor relationship is because the Cleveland Police Department always used excessive force against citizens, violated constitutional rights, and had inadequately policed its own officers.


6. Oakland



Unemployment Rate: 10.3%
Poverty rate: 20.4%
Violent & crime rate: 1,426 per 100,000

There is high rate of robberies and high rate of motor vehicle thefts in Oakland than any other city in the US. People continue to migrate from San Francisco to Oakland to avoid insane property prices causing increase in population , unemployment and leading to increase in crime rate.


7. Little Rock



Unemployment Rate: 10.5%
Poverty rate: 17.8%
Violent & crime rate: 1,531 per 100,000

Little Rock is ranks in the top ten in the country for both property crime and violent crimes per capita. One of the largest contributors to the Little Rock’s high violent crime rate is the high prevalence of aggravated assault in the city.


8. Dayton



Unemployment Rate: 13.5%
Poverty rate: 14.4%
Violent & crime rate: 1,402 per 100,000

Living in Dayton, it is estimated that you have a 1 in 19.5 chance of being the victim of a property crime like a car break in or home invasion robbery and you have a 1 in 100 chance of being raped or attacked.

Also there are lot of stolen cell phones, laptops and black license plates. Residence in Dayton earn the 3rd lowest salaries in America’s big cities at $28,745.


9. San Bernardino

Poverty rate: 33.4%
Violent & crime rate: 1,324 per 100,000

In San Bernardino , it is estimated that 1 in 10 residents are without jobs and there are 44% of homicides in San Bernardino. One of the contributing factor to the increment in the rate of crime in the city is due to the a relatively underfunded of the San Bernardino Police Department.


10. Springfield



Unemployment Rate: 10.5%
Poverty rate: 22.4%
Violent & crime rate: 1,337 per 100,000


Springfield ranks as having the worst property crime per capita of any city in the country and ranks as one of the more dangerous cities in America.
